Tips on Buying TVs

There are so many TVs out there these days, what is the best one to get? Here's some information to help you out.

Types
You can get the following types of TVs:
LED - You can find these in all price points, therefore, they are the most common. A great TV with the right specs.

Plasma - These were the first flat screens and the technology is starting to become obsolete.

OLED - The way of the future. These produce the best colors and picture, however, they are pricey.

What to look for
Here are the specs to take note of when looking for your new TV:

Refresh Rate - This is measured in Hz and the higher the number the better. Example: as 240 Hz is better than a 120 Hz

Response Time - You want the smallest amount of time. Anything with a 2 ms response time and less is best.

Resolution - You really need to get a 1080p at minimum. The higher the number the better.

Screen Size - This is the diagonal measurement of the screen. When deciding on what size to buy, measure the area you plan to put the TV first. Make sure to check actual dimensions of the TV which will include the case.
Contrast - 10,000 to 1 is common on most TVs.

Viewing Angle - This determines how far away from the center of the TV that a person can view it.

Extras
You may want to look into the following items:

Mounting Brackets - These allow for the TV to be hung from the wall.

Home Theater System - The speakers in the TVs are not usually the best. This will allow you to enjoy your TV better.
